Brand new album from Nightmares on Wax and it's FIRE! Echo45 Sound System is out now on Warp Records.Did you know Nightmares on Wax is Warp's longest standing signee? That was news to me, but didn't surprise me. "Carboot Soul" from '99 is a classic in the "trip hop" genre, but exceeds the limitations of that genre's description. This new album stays in similar chill tempo territory, with a propelling energy that keeps a great groove throughout. The energy of sound system culture influences are on full display, just listen. A great fusion.I had the honour of providing some scratches (and a shout out!) on the continuous mix of the album, which is available as the last song on the streaming edition.
