We join Haitian DJ/producer Michaël Brun at W1 Curates Studios to explore how to make a Kompa beat.The Port-au-Prince-born, New York-based artist has made an international impact while championing the sounds of his home nation.In this episode, Brun introduces us to Kompa, a popular traditional dance sound from Haiti that was pioneered in the 1950s, usually comprising electric guitar, vocals, horns, and drums.
